Meet The Artist

Hey there, I’m Natalie!

I first picked up watercolours in 2020, thinking it would be a fun little fling, spoiler: it wasn’t. It turned into a full-blown love affair. By 2021, I was painting portraits on commission, and in 2024, I waltzed into the wedding industry with live guest illustration, and I have now painted at over 35 of your weddings!

By day, I work in the mental health space with a background in project management (and a soft spot for a well-behaved spreadsheet). By night and on the weekends outside of weddings, I’m creating, reading, or making my signature pasta alla vodka. My fiancé Jordan is often there too, usually as my lovingly ‘voluntold’ art assistant.

With a Bachelor of Human Sciences, a brain that likes order, and a heart that loves romance, I’m a slightly unusual but rather useful blend of creative and organised; the kind of person you want at your wedding when things need to be both magical and seamless.

I grew up in the Central West, but Sydney stole my heart (and my appetite) when I moved in 2015 for uni. I’m a big believer that oysters are best enjoyed by the dozen, king fish ceviche is a perfect entree, and a gin martini (extra dirty, shaken not stirred, three olives) is the best way to toast, well… anything really.

FAQs

My forte in the live space is the blank face illustration, singles take me 6-10 minutes and couples take 10-16 minutes. The varied time frame is due to how intricate the outfit is or how chatty your guests are!
Upon enquiry I will respond and send across all the info you require, including optional extras, to ensure we are creating something in line with your vision and that will serve your guests the most!
I create each illustration in real time during your celebration, working from a quick reference photo taken on the day. This allows your guests to continue enjoying the event while their portrait is being painted.
To ensure I can capture as many guests as possible, each illustration is limited to one or two people.
Once complete, guests can return to collect their finished artwork later in the evening.
I typically complete around 5–6 illustrations per hour, amounting to 10-12 people each hour.
I’m based in South-West Sydney and happily travel across Sydney, the Hunter Valley, Southern Highlands and Illawarra Shoalhaven for weddings. Originally from Bathurst, I’ll also take any excuse to return for the occasional Bathurst or Orange celebration.
